Please tell us about your interview procedure at Grant Thornton (Short listing procedure, GDs, Interviews).

Latika Malik Grant Thornton Recruitment Process AnalystGrant Thornton came to my college “Sri Venkateswara College, DU” for campus placements. We had a pre placement talk followed by 4 rounds-GD, Prose writing, language test and an interview round.

What and how many internships and projects you did at college? How did you get them?

I did a summer internship with Scooze which was a startup at that time. I had an interview round for it and that’s how I got selected.

What makes this company different from other firms?

Grant Thornton like the big four is a leading accountancy firm and holds the sixth position across the globe in terms of the services it provides. It is very much different from the big four in term of the work culture and the solutions it provides to its clients.

How did you prepare for the placement season? What advice would you give to your juniors regarding the placement season?

My selection procedure wasn’t really technical except the interview round where one of the persons in the panel happened to be a maths hons graduate. So it was him who came up with questions on my academics and therefore it’s always good to be prepared to the extent that you end up convincing the other person that you have a sound knowledge of what you have been doing on academic grounds.

What’s the role of academics in getting a good placement at Sri Venkateswara College?

I strongly believe that one reason that I’m at Grant Thornton today is because I had a good academic record. So as far as my opinion is concerned, academics play a very important role in determining where one ends up getting a job.

Elaborate on the type of work in this kind of role?

I’m working as an Analyst at Grant Thornton India for the “Global Research Centre” in the Advisory service line.

What growth opportunities does this company provide? Is there any global exposure?

Global Research Centre is Grant Thornton’s shared services center with immense growth opportunities and global exposure.

Would you like to give any general advice to your juniors?

What really matters in the college placements is a good aptitude and a sound knowledge of your subjects.
