Abha Mehta, Mechanical Department assistant trainee, Fluor Daniel shares her experience in this brief interview.
I went through a written test, in the technical round they posed questions related to Material Sciences and Strength of Material. They did ask me about my projects which I had done during the course of Engineering. In the HR Round, they posed questions about my negatives , future and my family.
What helped you sail through the hurdles and crack one of the finest jobs?
Knowledge of basics in my technical subjects like Material Sciences and Strength of Material did help me a lot. Being humble and polite and truthful during the interview will always showcase you in a better light.
How did you prepare for the placement season? What advice would you give to your juniors regarding the placement season?
I worked on my technical subjects basics. Having a clear knowledge of the subject in hand and clarity of concepts is the key. Advice I give is stay true in interviews and be confident.
What’s the role of academics in getting a good placement at IGIT?
Academics is the major thing that can help you get placement after college.
What all internships and projects you did while in IGIT? How did you get them?
I did my summer internships at D.M.R.C and D.R.D.O. I even did a project named “Efficycle” sponsored by maruti at national level. I got Intership at D.M.R.C. through reference and applied myself for D.R.D.O. Project was self effort.
Are you planning to do higher studies in near future?
It depends on my job profile. Perhaps yes I will do M.S. from Germany.
Would you like to give any general advice to your juniors at IGIT?
Work Well and be a all rounder. Companies don’t need super intelligent people, They just need people with good attitude and mind.
