Please tell us about your Interview procedure at Cognizant (Short listing procedure, GDs, Interviews, Questions).
What and how many internships and projects you did at college? How did you get them?
I did 2 months training in BSNL which is a communication sector. A project which was required to be done as my final semester subject.
What makes this company different from other firms?
They’ve been really supporting of our transition from college to corporate. We fad a training for 6 months to get knowledge about our domain.
How did you prepare for the placement season? What advice would you give to your juniors regarding the placement season?
Our college had several courses and tests planned for us which was enough. I’d just say that work hard on your strengths. Be honest in your interview. And have patience. There are a lot of jobs up for grabs if you know where to look.
What’s the role of academics in getting a good placement?
If you are well versed with your subject it automatically improves your confidence, allowing you to not only do well in written and technical but also HR interview.
Elaborate on the type of work in this kind of role?
It’s mostly coding if you are in development. The work varies from person to person as it is a team work.
What growth opportunities does this company provide? Is there any global exposure?
Yes, we have global exposure but only after we are well versed in our domain. Growth is gradual and after a certain position you are eligible to go onsite
Would you like to give any general advice to your juniors?
Don’t underestimate yourself. Have faith and confidence in yourself. Have patience and keep a fixed goal in mind. Don’t try to pressurize yourself. No good comes out of stress.
