Rishabh Pahwa Amazon Job Process Software Engineer The process started with a telephonic round. I was asked two questions  for which I had to give a working code. Afterwards, I had four technical  on-site interviews. The main focus was to test how I was approaching the  problem.

What helped you sail through the hurdles and crack one of the  finest jobs?

I guess, SPOJ, Codechef and Geeks4Geeks had a huge role in getting me  this job.

How did you prepare for the placement season? What advice  would you give to your juniors regarding the placement  season?

I wasn’t expecting much from the placement season and hence I didn’t particularly take a serious approach. I used to practice programming on SPOJ and codechef regularly. Also, I and my friends used to discuss possible solutions to various problems. I think that helped a lot.

What’s the role of academics in getting a good placement at NSIT?

Academics at NSIT, I believe, don’t provide a very good learning experience. So IMHO, they don’t mean much apart from getting into the procedure of various companies.

PS – I was not very good at academics.

What all internships and projects you did while in NSIT? How did you get them?

I mostly did few small individual projects like Minesweeper game, a chrome extension, android application, to get gist of various fields I can get into.

Would you like to give any general advice to your juniors in NSIT?

Work hard. Have fun. Make history 😛
